Plant description

A bright, uplifting mix designed to bring early colour and cheer to borders, pots and window boxes from late winter into early spring. This carefully chosen combination blends soft creamy whites, cool citrus tones and frosty blues, offering a fresh and elegant palette that stands out in low light and cooler weather. It’s ideal for injecting life into the garden during the dullest months, with reliable and weather resistant flowering.

If purchased with the pot option, and perhaps as an all-inclusive gift, the Lucca terracotta pot (Ø44cm × H28cm) will provide a visually attractive container, as imaged.

Please note that the pansies in this collection can flower from late autumn but that the main display will be between March and April.

Bulbs and plants in this collection may be dispatched separately but timed to arrive during their ideal planting periods. The bulbs will be delivered first and can be planted straight away. The pansies, which are to be planted on top, can be planted later when they arrive.

In this combination you will receive the following:

20 × Narcissus 'Thalia': Fantastically fragrant and producing between two and four creamy white flowers on each 35-40cm tall stem, this elegant Triandrus daffodil comes highly recommended. Grows to 40cm.

10 × Narcissus 'Salou': The outer petals of these gently ruffled, double-petalled flowers are a soft creamy white, while the inner segments are a zesty citrus yellow. This combination offers a fresh colourway, that looks beautiful when woven through the border or added to pots. Grows to 35cm.

6 × Pansy 'Cool Wave Frost': Frosty white and blue blooms that intensify in cooler weather. This short-lived perennial, typically grown as an annual, delivers reliable two-tone colour through the chill of the cooler months, and the flat-faced flowers emerge white then develop stunning blue frosting from the edges as they mature. Grows to 15cm.

How to care for 100 days repeat flowering pot collection:

Using fresh, good-quality compost, plant tulip bulbs in pots from September to November. Plant daffodil bulbs where they will receive sun for most (if not all) of the day. The shape and size of daffodil bulbs will vary from species to species, but they should all be planted approximately 10-15cm (4-6in) deep, and with their pointy tips uppermost. After planting, water in well and apply a general-purpose fertiliser to encourage the development of strong roots.

For the pansies in this collection, plant out in compost or well-drained, humus-rich soil that is not frozen or prone to waterlogging. Protect young plants from slug and snail damage using environmentally friendly pellets, beer traps or alternative methods available in our slug and snail control selection. Deadhead the spent blooms to prolong flowering.

In spring, when the plants are in active growth, apply a high-potash fertiliser (like Tomorite) each week until the leaves start to die back. Pinch off the spent flower heads as the petals fall, and let the stem and foliage die back naturally. The bulbs can then be lifted and discarded, or cleaned, dried and stored (as before) for replanting the following autumn.

Please note:

Some of the plants in this collection will die right back in autumn, then fresh new growth will appear again in spring.
