Created especially for the Centenary, Marc Quinn's sculpture - The Rush of Nature is to be donated to the RHS Chelsea Centenary Appeal to help raise £1m for the next generation of horticulturists.
We are thrilled to have been chosen by the RHS to design and build the garden which complements and showcases this iconic piece of modern art.
The centrepiece of the installation - a multicoloured sculpture of an orchid, sits on top of a grassy mound. Luscious clumps of Stipa tennuisima billow in the slightest breeze. The rich pink, red and purple tones of the sculpture are mirrored in the colour palette of the mound – from pink Lychnis and Chrysanthemum to red carnation and purple Ajuga, Delphinium and Eryngium. Subtle accents of bright green Euphorbia, deep yellow Trollius and white Astrantia are dotted throughout the mound.
