Capture the warm hues of an evening sky, featuring plants with a blend of soft lavender, pink, and purple tones. The combination of aromatic foliage, vibrant flowers, and long-lasting colour will attract pollinators while adding a soothing, tranquil atmosphere to your garden.

Carefully curated to deliver on style and performance, and grown to order on the Crocus nursery, our mini-border plant collections create beautiful displays that come back year after year. The collections comprise six, 9cm plants.

Each collection is suited to fill a 1m sq space in the border, and has been designed to enable you to either place them on their own, intersperse them with other plants, or weave them in multiples to create a cohesive, considered look to your planting scheme.

Alternatively, pop them into our Tall antique zinc dolly pot and create a showstopping seasonal display for the patio.

What's included:

Each collection contains the following plants:

1 x Nepeta grandiflora 'Summer Magic' (PBR): This compact catmint tends to hold its shape better than most, so it's ideal for smaller spaces, pots or even low, informal hedging. The aromatic, grey foliage offers the perfect backdrop for its larger than average, nectar-rich flowers, which often appear non-stop throughout the summer. Not only does it it look great, it's also loved by bees and other beneficial insects. Grows to 40cm.
1 x Geranium Rozanne ('Gerwat') (PBR): An award-winning perennial celebrated for its long blooming period and stunning lavender-blue flowers with a white eye and purple veining. Fully hardy and easy to grow, it’s also wildlife-friendly, attracting bees and butterflies, making it a valuable addition to borders, rock gardens, containers, or as ground cover. Grows to 60cm.
2 x Erigeron karvinskianus 'Lavender Lady': Incredibly long-flowering and prolific, this new cultivar is just as reliable as the much-loved species, but it has slightly larger, lavender coloured flowers. A must-have plant for a sunny spot with freely draining soils, it will soon form a spreading carpet of colour that will last from May to October - if not even longer! Grows to 30cm
2 x Salvia nemorosa Pink Inspiration ('Tuitsalv') (PBR): This new, long-flowering ornamental sage shares many of the characteristics of its much-loved cousin ('Caradonna'), however it's upright, purple-stained stems are crowned with soft pink flowers. A valuable addition to the summer garden, it adds colour and structural interest to the planting scheme, while helping to while helping to keep the pollinators topped up with pollen and nectar. Grows to 80cm.

Planting tips:

Prepare the bed well by digging in lots of composted organic matter before you plant.

Where possible, plant in odd numbers, and cluster them together to give impact. Multiples of 3 work really well set out in irregular triangles for an organic feel, while larger numbers can be planted in mercurial clusters or drifts. In bigger gardens, try to repeat your clusters through the border to create a sense of rhythm and cohesion.

Also, when setting your plants out, check their eventual spread and make sure they’ve enough space to fill out. After planting, keep plants well watered for their first year, particularly during warmer weather, and feed them with a good, general purpose fertiliser through the growing season.

When potting up, use a good quality general-purpose compost, and make sure the plants are kept well watered, particularly during warmer weather.

Please note:

The plants in this collection will die right back in autumn, then fresh new growth will appear again in spring.
