Plant description

This brightly coloured combination of ten plants will offer dazzling colour throughout the summer. Supplied as rooted cuttings and jumbo seedlings.

Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied, but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from.

What's included:

In each collection you will receive five of each of the following:

  • Calibrachoa 'Cabaret Early Orange': The vibrantly and richly-coloured calibrachoa is a stunning, profusely flowering summer bedding plant, ideal for scrambling over the edges of a pot or hanging basket. Grows to 30 cm. Supplied as rooted cuttings.

  • Verbena 'Showboat Midnight': This long-flowering, velvety purple verbena, opposite to orange on the colour wheel, works wonderfully well spilling over the edges of pots and containers. Grows to 30cm. Supplied as jumbo seedlings.

How to care for Summer nights container plant collection:

Pot up and grow on under glass until all risk of frost has passed and they can then either be planted outside into a well-prepared bed, or used to fill decorative pots and hanging baskets for the patio (9cm plants don’t need potting on but require initial frost protection). Pinching out the growing tips will encourage them to become bushier, and feeding with a high-potash fertiliser at regular intervals throughout the summer will promote even more flowers to form.

Plant up summer containers

After the last frost date, plant up containers with tender flowering bedding and reliable foliage plants. Line terracotta pots with polythene, taking care not to cover the planting holes, to reduce water loss through the porous sides of the pot.
