Buy Osteospermum 'In The Pink' African daisy: Long-flowering and prolific

This perennial is semi-evergreen so it can lose some of its leaves in winter. In colder regions or more exposed gardens, it may lose them all, but then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: full sun
  • Soil: moderately fertile, well-drained soil
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: June to September
  • Hardiness: Frost hardy (may need winter protection in cold areas)

Launched at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2012, this sun-loving semi-evergreen perennial is hardier than most, and will produce a mass of hot pink flowers, which if dead-headed regularly will keep appearing from midsummer to mid-autumn.

  • Garden care: Protect plants in very cold areas and lift and divide congested clumps in autumn or spring.
