cheal's weeping cherry
bare root 125cm+
£49.99
available to order from autumn
This tree is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.
- Position: full sun
- Soil: tolerates most soils
- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: April to May
- Hardiness: fully hardy
Weeping branches are covered in pink buds, opening to clusters of double pink flowers in mid- to late spring. Young bronze leaves turn glossy green in summer. This magnificent weeping tree is ideal for a small garden, as a specimen in the lawn or by a stream or pool. - Garden care: When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly. Prune in summer to reduce the risk of silver leaf and bacterial canker. Cut back any dead, diseased or crossing branches.
- Some of the branches on my Cheals weeping cherry blossom tree have reached the ground. When is the best time to trim these back and how much should I take off? Many thanks

Thank you for your question. I would advise trimming back approx 6" at this time of year (Late June).
