Buy Carex oshimensis 'Evergold' Japanese sedge: Small, variegated, evergreen grass

    A small, evergreen, ornamental grass that forms low hummocks of striking dark green leaves with a central strip of creamy yellow. In mid to late spring it bears brown flowerspikes on long stems. It looks good planted with other ornamental grasses with contrasting foliage.

  • Garden care: Comb through the plant in winter with your fingers to remove dead foliage and snip out any leaves in summer.

Good grass for edge of borders.


Planted at edge of borders and it works well. Only problem is its tendency for the leaf tips to go brown.






Purchased the small Cards Evergreen plant to place in an ornamental planter I have and it looks fab. It's still looking as healthy today even after the very cold weather. A slight trip to freshen it up that's all it needs. That's another great thing about this plant it virtually looks after itself, no pests to damage it, I love the little plant.

Hi . I have a sunken border with nothing in it abutting the house at the end of our off street drive. We have put Scottish cobbles in it and would now like to simply plant it with some clumps of evergreen grasses - all the same type. It gets early morning sun . What would you suggest ?
