This grass dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

Have several clumps, grown with verbena bonariensis. Beautiful combination which provides height and a long lasting airy display. Wouldn't be without them. Great for any size plot.

This is a great grass and is quick to establish. I was concerned about this plant only having a few months to settle in before the wet winter of 2015/2016 but it has coped well and it's also on very clayey soil. However, I disagree that's it ok for part shade as it definitely isn't growing as well in that position and ends up with a variegated leaf colour with a pinkish tinge and is much more stunted. I would use pheasants tail grass or another shade loving grass in such locations.
