A majestic and impressive perennial with handsome foliage, this angelica also produces rounded umbels up to 25cm across, of small green flowers in early summer.
Ideally suited to a reliably moist soil in partial to full shade, it has a striking achitectural presence and looks wonderful at the back of the border.
Often short-lived, it will usually die back after flowering, but will self-seed freely if the conditions are favourable.

Sowing instructions:
As the seed requires light to germinate, surface sow - either directly onto a well-prepared bed in late spring or early summer, or onto compost-filled modules in late summer or autumn.
Germination can take 2-3 weeks, but when large enough to handle, thin seedlings to 15cm (6") intervals, and then transplant them (while still young) to where they are to grow, spacing them at 60-90cm (2-3ft) intervals.
