We start our top daffodil bulbs with Narcissus Minnow. This delicate miniature daffodil produces clusters of up to five flowers per stem with a delightful spring scent. They quickly spread to form good-sized clumps that flower throughout March. Another miniature we love is the Tête-à-tête' daffodil with its deep golden-yellow spring flowers. Putting on a show in spring's first part is fabulous paired with blue grape hyacinths. Narcissus Thalia is one of the best white daffodils available if you love a pure white flower. A firm favourite of the Victorians, it is beautiful when planted in great swathes.

For delicious spring fragrances, plant daffodil bulbs Narcissus Geranium. The pure white petals contrast with the bright orange central cup. The fragrance will also draw pollinators for early spring nectar. Narcissus Hawera produces lemony-petalled flowers that cover its multi-flowered stems. They usually open in succession, flowering over several weeks at the front of borders or in pots. A particular prolific daffodil to buy is Narcissus Ice Follies. The flower starts with a rich, buttery yellow, fading to almost white as the season progresses. Blooming in February it's one of the first daffodils to flower.
