Buy Rudbeckia hirta 'Enchanted Forest' (PBR) coneflower: A lime green coloured herbaceous perennial

This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: moist, well-drained
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: July to October
  • Hardiness: half hardy (will need winter protection)

'Enchanted Forest' is full of lime-green coloured blooms with a chocolate brown centre. These zingy green petals gradually deepen in colour as the summer season progresses. Attractive to a wide range of pollinating insects, these eye-catching herbaceous perennials are a great choice for a wildlife garden. Grow them in patio pots, or plant them en masse in beds and borders.

  • Garden care: Plant out 'Enchanted Forest' after spring frosts, feed weekly with seaweed extract during the growing season. Deadhead faded flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.
