Buy Helleborus × ericsmithii 'Pirouette' (PBR) hellebore: Flowers prolifically over a long period

This perennial is semi-evergreen so it can lose some of its leaves in winter. In colder regions or more exposed gardens, it may lose them all, but then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: partial shade
  • Soil: neutral to alkaline, freely draining soil
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: December to April
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

A fab new hellebore, which is noted for its ability to produce an abundance of flowers over a prolonged period from mid-winter to mid-spring. The flowers can be in variable shades of pink. Once established, it is tolerant of dry shade, so it is an ideal woodlander, and is perfect for underplanting deciduous trees and shrubs, where it will provide low-growing, early interest before the overhead canopy of leaves emerge. Plant it with ferns, hostas and early flowering bulbs to complete the effect.

  • Garden care: Add lots of well-rotted leaf mould or organic matter to the planting hole. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted organic matter around the base of the plant in autumn and provide a top-dressing of general fertiliser each spring.

  • Harmful if eaten/skin irritant

MANY BLOOMS

I have had this Hellebore in a raised pot with variegated ivy for two years and it has as many flowers the second year as the first. It's lovely to see flowers in mid-winter. It is a robust looking plant.

Wow! Stunning!

This plant is beautiful and covered in large, elegant blush pink flowers with silvery streaks. The leaves are dark green and make for pretty foliage in the garden. As you would expect from Crocus, the plant arrived in tiptop condition, thriving and healthy. I am so impressed with it that I have just ordered another one. Transformative for a very lacklustre end-of-winter corner of the garden.

I ordered this plant on 12/12/17 and it arrived 14/12/17 in perfect condition. I am delighted with the quality of this plant and would have no hesitation in buying from this company again. Well packed and really fast delivery as it came to North Yorkshire. Thank you Crocus.

If I buy this now, will it flower this winter>

Hello, There is a very good chance that it will, however this is not something that we can absolutely guarantee, as the production of flowers is largely determined by external (cultural) factors.

Heavenly helleborus

Once March arrives spring is definitely on the horizon and the gardener begins to stir, along with the bees and birds. There’s literally a buzz in the air and the earliest bees to arrive are often buff-tailed bumblebee queens (Bombus terrestris) fresh out
