The plants in this collection will die right back in autumn, then fresh new growth will appear again in spring.

Perfect for adding summer colour to a sunny spot that does not get loads of water.

In this collection you will receive three of each of the following varieties, each in a 9cm pot.

  • Echinops ritro 'Veitch's Blue' Ever popular for their globes of blue flowers that attract hoards of insects, globe thistles bring a natural look to the garden. This handsome blue variety is ideal for the middle or back of a sunny, well-drained border. It makes a particularly good cut or dried flower. Grows to 90cm.

  • Salvia 'Amistad' (PBR)A stunning new cultivar, which if deadheaded regularly, will flower from late spring to mid-autumn. The larger than average flowers are a sublime shade of purple, and they are made all the more dramatic by their near-black calyces and supporting stems. Bees love it. Grows to 1.2m.

  • Planting tips: Prepare the bed well by digging in lots of composted organic matter before you plant. For best results it is essential that the plants are kept well watered for the first year, particularly during warmer weather.
