Symptoms

Stems and flowers become enlarged and flattened. Developing a ribbon-like look to them. Often only a single part of the plant is affected.

Cause

Usually an injury during the early stages of growth, caused by frost, slugs or a pruning injury. Viruses may also be a cause.

Harm

None.

Treatment

Not necessary, but you can prune out the distorted areas if you want.
