Swap a pond pump with a heater

It is an ideal time to check submersible pond pumps, before storing them for the winter in a garden shed or garage. Clean the filter and store dry. This is an ideal time to replace the pump with a pond heater that will help keep at least part of the pond surface ice free throughout the winter.
