A pastel combination of perennial garden favourites known for producing their flowers in abundance over a prolonged period. For best results plant them in full sun.
Carefully curated to deliver on style and performance, and grown to order on the Crocus nursery, our mini-border plant collections create beautiful displays that come back year after year. Comprising six, 9cm plants, the collections will typically be dispatched from late March to mid-April - perfectly timed for spring planting and robust growth.
Each collection is suited to fill a 1m sq space, and has been designed to enable you to either place them on their own, intersperse them with other plants, or weave them in multiples through your borders to create a cohesive, considered look to your garden.

In this collection you will receive the following:
- 1 x Erysimum 'Bowles's Mauve': This long-flowering, bushy, vigorous wallflower produces long spires of deep mauve flowers from late winter to summer (and usually into autumn), above narrow, grey-green leaves. It is a short-lived plant, but it makes a vivid display for many months in a sunny border. Try it as part of a colour-themed scheme, or contrast it with vivid yellows. It also looks good in a rock garden or raised bed. Grows to 75cm.
- 2 x Vinca minor 'Atropurpurea': A low-growing, evergreen perennial with trailing stems, ideal for ground cover. Dark green, ovate leaves with rich plum-purple flowers emerge from spring to late summer. This lesser periwinkle thrives in partial to full shade, is tolerant of a range of soils, so well-suited for suppressing weeds in difficult areas and this RHS award-winning cultivar is particularly useful for underplanting shrubs and trees. Grows to 15cm.
- 2 x Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna': A superb cultivar with glowing purple stems loaded with violet-blue flowers from June to October. The grey-green, aromatic foliage also makes an attractive accent in the summer border. A compact variety that is perfect for adding a splash of colour at the front of a well- drained herbaceous border or gravel garden. It thrives in a sunny spot and will become drought tolerant once established. The blooms are a magnet for butterflies and bees. Grows to 50cm.
- 1 x Geranium 'Dreamland' ('Bremdream') (PBR): Forming a creeping carpet of attractively divided foliage, this wonderful new geranium will help keep weeds at bay. It is however for its ability to produce an abundance of dark-veined, pale pink flowers throughout summer that it is best-loved. Perfect for adding colour at the front of the border, for softening the edges of a path, or for spilling over the sides of a pot. Grows to 40cm.
Prepare the bed well by digging in lots of composted organic matter before you plant.
Where possible, plant in odd numbers, and cluster them together to give impact. Multiples of 3 work really well set out in irregular triangles for an organic feel, while larger numbers can be planted in mercurial clusters or drifts. In bigger gardens, try to repeat your clusters through the border to create a sense of rhythm and cohesion.
Also, when setting your plants out, check their eventual spread and make sure they’ve enough space to fill out. After planting, keep plants well watered for their first year, particularly during warmer weather, and feed them with a good, general purpose fertiliser through the growing season.
