  • 100% biodegradable
  • Rich source of nutrients for the garden
  • Holds thousands of leaves

Falling autumn leaves are a boon for organic gardeners - a rich source of nutrients for the forthcoming spring's planting.

But if you don’t have a compost bin, or the one you have is small, the number of leaves shed by even one small tree can be overwhelming.

These loose weave jute sacks can hold thousands of fallen leaves and keep them contained until they break down.

Just fill the sack, leave it in a corner of the garden and forget about it. In time, the leaves and sack will both biodegrade, leaving you with that cornerstone of green gardening - wonderful compost.

After one year, the leaves should have rotted down enough to use as a mulch around the garden, and after two years you should have a perfect soil conditioner.

Excellent!

Great. Fill 'em with leaves in the autumn (they hold a lot), they and the leaves rot right down, next autumn you've got a pile of well-rotted leaves for dressing your veg beds or whatever.

Love these hessian sacks

Perfect sacks for composting leaves - keeps the leaves from straying but allows for collecting without plastic. Easy for composting.

Disappointing

I bought a set of these as our garden backs onto woods and there are lots of deciduous leaves available in the autumn. I collected up a couple of sackfuls, following the instructions, but when I went to move them a few months later, the bags had rotted through and the contents fell out. These are too pricey to last for such a short time.

Practical and handy to use

4

Practical and handy. A good way to make compost from leaves when your compost bin is full.

I thought there was a huge hedgehog in the garden.

we have deciduous trees and can collect up leaves in a compostable bag, which is strong at first use. You do not have a box for my category of enthusiastic gardener who has to have help after illness makes me tired. gardening is recommended therapy I enjoy.

How long does it take for the leaves & sack to compost?

Kim

Hello there By the following autumn the leaves should have rotted down sufficiently to use as a mulch around the garden, and 2 years to be able to use as a soil conditioner. Hope this helps
