Buy Rudbeckia hirta 'Enchanted Embers' (PBR) coneflower: A russet toned herbaceous perennial

This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: moist, well-drained
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: July to October
  • Hardiness: half hardy (will need winter protection)

The smouldering beauty of the mellow, burnt orange shades of each semi-double flower deepen as the season progresses. 'Enchanted Ember' supports a wide range of pollinating insects providing nectar-rich blooms from mid-summer to the first frosts. An exceptional herbaceous perennial with excellent vigour, forming a well-branched plant that will fill a patio pot with ease.

  • Garden care: Plant out 'Enchanted Embers' after spring frosts, feed weekly with seaweed extract during the growing season. Deadhead faded flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.
