  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: any well-drained soil
  • Rate of growth: slow to average
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

The young foliage of this impressive ground-covering evergreen offers a luminous splash of colour that will help liven up larger borders or steep banks. Flourishing in a wide range of soils (including chalk), it is very easy to grow, and it will become tolerant of drought once established. It looks attractive throughout the year, and when the temperatures start to dip in winter, the foliage usually takes on gold and orange undertones.

  • Garden care: Needs minimal pruning - remove any misplaced or diseased branches in late autumn.

I would buy again

Very pleased these have survived their first Scottish winter and managed to grow and continue to look healthy. Our local roe deer haven't touched them either which is a big plus in my garden

Dumfries and Galloway

Great little conifer

An inexpensive way to use around the garden, they don't take long to get bigger

How far apart should these plugs be planted?

Hello, It depends on the effect you are trying to create (and how impatient you are), but do keep in mind that each plant will have an eventual spread of around 2 metres.

Hi, will these allow perennials and bulbs to come through? Thank you James

Hello, Once established, I think you will struggle to get anything to grow through them as the branches are quite dense.
