Sturdy, attractive and functional. So good, I bought two for myself and then one more for a valued client.

Exactly what I wanted

The obelisk has been in place for some months and has supported a fairly vigorous rose very well. It still looks good and was simple to erect.

Solid, well made, good height obelisks

Good selection of heights. Looks as though it will last a good while before requiring replacement.

I already have the Classic Obelisk from you which is lovely on one side of my border and I know wish to have the 7foot Traditional Obelisk, possibly a pair to go along the border on the opposite side of my garden. Anyway, my question is... in comparison to the Classic what is the diameter of the Traditional? The reason being is that the border on the opposite side is much narrower. Thank you.

Palm Tree

Hello there, our 7ft Traditional Obelisk is around 37cm in diameter, compared to the 40cm of the Classic Obelisk, so it is a little narrower but not by much. If that is too wide, our Classic Climbing Column has an adjustable base diameter (you pull out the legs to the width you need), so it may be a better fit for your border: https://www.crocus.co.uk/product/_/classic-climbing-column/classid.2000030179/

Hi, is the height measure (e.g. 8ft) above the ground or do I need to allow for some to go into the soil? Thanks.

Jenny

Hello, The height stated is the above ground section, each obelisk has legs that extend a foot below ground for stability. Hope this helps!

Andy

What is the diameter of the 8' obelisk at the base? I want to replace a rotting old wooden support but would need to feed the existing rose up through the middle after giving it a fairly drastic prune.

Snakebark

Hi there, The diameter of the base is 45cm across. I hope this helps

tara

Would this be strong enough for a wisteria in its early growth? I have a slow growing type that would look better with some structure!

Alison

Hello, Yes it would, but a wisteria will soon out-grow this obelisk - and you will then have a tricky time trying to unravel the twining stems.

In need of support.....

The longer I go on growing my own veg, the more support I need.It was all so simple when I started. All I needed was a few little wigwams. You know the kind of thing; stick five bamboo canes in the ground in a rough circle, tie the tops together and you
