Buy Ajuga tenorei Princess Nadia ('Piotrek01') (PBR) bugle: A colourful, compact form

  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: any moist, well-drained soil
  • Rate of growth: fast-growing
  • Flowering period: April to May, often with a smaller flush in August
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

Jazz up an area of partial shade with this colourful new ground cover. A more compact version of its commonly grown relative (A. reptans), it forms a dense cushion of small, slender leaves, which emerge in spring bright reddish pink before reverting to cream-edged grey-green. This showy new growth is soon followed by a profusion of rich purple/blue flowers, and then in late summer, a second (less prolific) flush will often appear. It makes an eye-catching gem for pots, window boxes or front of border positions.

  • Garden care: Lift and divide clumps when necessary to avoid congestion.

Is this supposed to die off after the first floweringot it last month and it looked lovely, but now there's only a handful of leaves left and only two of them are the proper variagated leaves, the rest are plain green making it a fraction of the size it was when it arrived a month ago.

Hi, if you could send us some photos of your plant to customerservices@crocus.co.uk together with your order number and also mention you posted here first, we'd be happy to take a look.
