The name of this daff is derived from the shape of the flower. The central cup flares so much it is virtually flattened against the unusually rounded outer petals, thus giving the impression of a flattened disc. Charming and natural looking, each stem will usually produce between one and three scented flowers. There will be some variation in colour as the outer petals (perianth) fade to creamy white as it matures. An 'Award of Garden Merit' recipient, it is a shorter variety that naturalizes quickly and has leaves so fine they almost look like blades of grass.
- Garden care:
Plant 10-15cm (4-6in) deep from late summer to early autumn. After flowering feed with a balanced fertiliser, dead-head and allow the leaves to die back naturally.
