- Position: full sun or partial shade
- Soil: fertile, well-drained, neutral soil
- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: April to May
- Other features: silvery seedheads
- Hardiness: fully hardy
Each semi-double flower is made up of pointed pink petals, which have a paler edge, and a darker flush to the outer surface. These appear from late spring and are followed by decorative seedheads that remain interesting for several months. They will thrive in sun or light shade, however the flowers may have a stronger perfume in a sunny, sheltered spot.
- Garden care: No routine pruning is necessary. If the spread of the plant needs to be restricted prune immediately after flowering, cutting back overlong shoots to healthy buds. Apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser and a mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the base of the plant in early spring.
