In her 'Bulb' book, Anna Pavord describes this crocus as superb. The larger than average, goblet-shaped flowers are white, but will sometimes have a purple flush at their base. At their heart, bright orange-yellow stigma contrast sharply with the surrounding petals. A gem.

  • Garden care: Plant bulbs in naturalistic drifts 10cm (4in) deep in September or October.
