fast-growing
Flowering period:
June to August
Flower colour:
white and pink

The large flowerheads appear in upright, pointed clusters from mid summer, and open from bud a creamy white and gradually turn to pastel shades of pink as they age. Even after they have died off and lost all their colour, the flowers dry to a crispy brown, but stay on the shrub and their silhouettes provide winter interest. Like all Hydrangeas, they prefer relatively moist soils, however they do become more drought tolerant with age. Their flowers can be cut and added to fresh or dried arrangements.
Garden care:
To enhance flowering prune hard in early spring, cutting back the previous season's shoots to within a few buds of the permanent, woody framework of the plant.
