The Victorians thought that the flowers of the auriculas were so pretty that they used to mount the plants in frames with a black velvet backing and have special viewings. It's easy to see why too when you look closely at this gorgeous cultivar. Its fully double flowers are crowded with golden yellow petals, and as they appear in loose clusters, they put on a very pretty display when they appear in spring. - Garden care: Divide large clumps after the plant has flowered, preferably during a wet spell.
