This iris was introduced by American iris breeder 'Schreiner's' in 1976. It's tangerine and deep gold coloured flowers with a tangerine beard has ensured it's popularity ever since. The ruffled flower petals and fantastic sword shaped leaves are a bonus. Plant in big swathes for the best effect, but it can also be used in smaller groups as a contrast to purple and blue coloured flowers.

  • Garden care: Plant shallowly with the upper part of the rhizome sitting on the surface of the soil, incorporating a low nitrogen fertiliser in the planting hole. After planting remove the upper-most third of the leaves to minimise the incidence of wind-rock. In exposed areas stake with bamboo canes in early spring.
