  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: fertile, well-drained soil, neutral soil
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: July to September
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

This brand new clematis is perfect for pots as it will flower for several months without getting too big and boisterous. If you want it to get tall you will need to make sure it has a support of some sort for it to scramble over, but this could be a wigwam of brushwood canes or a piece of fan trellis. If planted in the border it will climb up a network of wires on a wall or fence, and it un-supported it will scramble about over the ground, mingling with its neighbours.

  • Garden care: In early spring cut back the previous year's stems to a pair of strong buds about 15-20cm (6-8in) above ground-level and apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser and a mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the plant, avoiding the immediate crown.
