Good sturdy feeder

5

I use the mesh ground feeder tray, primarily for dried mealworms for blackbirds and robins, which I use on the ground inside a protective cage which excludes birds larger than blackbirds. It is easy to clean using a brush. It doesn't rust but the colour has faded slightly but it's outside almost all the time. It is sturdy, it hasn't tipped over during storm Ciara, or currently during storm Dennis, and I live in a very windy uphill location. Price reasonable but is cheaper elsewhere on the internet but wasn't available from my usual bird food supplier when I wanted to purchase.

Apple Tree Feeder

5

I have two of these mesh trays. One is on our bird table. It stops the seeds from blowing off the table and stops the pigeons from scattering the food. The other tray is now in our small apple tree balanced between branches and secured with string. This was very easy to fit. We have two cats and the birds can feed in the safety of the tree. Seeds etc. do fall to the ground and this is taken by other birds. Really useful item to have.

Position the bird table in an open site where they can reach it without danger and close enough to the house so you can see the daily comings and goings. If starlings scare off the other more timid species from your table, try feeding in late
