Buy Sollya heterophylla 'White' white bluebell creeper: Sprays of white bell-shaped summer flowers

  • Position: full sun or partial sun
  • Soil: moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: June to September
  • Hardiness: half hardy (will need winter protection)

Small clusters of pendent white bell-shaped flowers nestle amongst the slender, evergreen leaves in summer, creating a very pretty effect - and afterwards, small blue fruits start to appear. It's a handsome (if somewhat tender) plant, that's ideal for coastal or sheltered gardens in milder regions of the UK.

  • Garden care: Tie twining stems using raffia or garden twine. In the spring cut back the flowered shoots to within 2-4 buds.
