  • Soil: poor or moderately fertile, moist, well drained neutral to slightly alkaline soil
  • Rate of growth: average

This is a great shrub for creating year-round interest. It forms a spreading mound of grey-green leaves that are retained throughout the year, and in early and midsummer, clusters of pretty white flowers. It is ideal for urban or coastal gardens as it tolerates a certain amount of pollution and salt-laden air. Plant it in a sheltered spot and avoid winter wet.

Beautiful plant and PEAT FREE!!!

We have planted a mixed hebe border alongside a path. This is a beautiful addition and great to discover it was from a PEAT FREE Nursery. A shame I couldn't find an option to search for peat free plants on crocus...

I bought a hebe albican from you 3 years ago and its been growing beautifully until the freezing weather and snow this year. All 4 plants leaves are brown and the plants look dead. However, although when Ive cut some of the branches at the top of the plant and they're brown inside, further down the plant there is still green in the stems. I was going to dig them up and replace them, but now Im not sure what to do. ANy advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, These plants are not quite fully hardy, so they probably did have a hard time with the freezing weather we have recently had. If there are hints of green, then that is a very good sign, but the only thing you can do now is give the plants time an see if they bounce back.
