  A high-quality and reliable scarlet-flowered bean, producing heavy crops of smooth, fleshy and stringless pods from early in the season. Flowers set fruit with the minimum of fuss and the vigorous plants stay productive for months if you pick the beans regularly, preferably while young at 15-20cm long to enjoy their outstanding flavour at its best. The flowers are edible too and make a colourful garnish.
  
  
• Growing Instructions:Choose a spot in full sun with the richest soil you can provide: dig in plenty of well-rotted organic matter before planting. From late spring sow seeds direct 5cm deep and about 20cm apart and support with sturdy hazel bean poles. Protect seedlings from slugs and squash blackfly as soon as they appear on shoot tips. Place bottle cloches (plastic drinks bottles with the bottom cut off) over emerging seedlings to protect from cold snaps and slugs.
