  Soft, fur-like silky flowerheads, which are irresistible to the touch, appear throughout summer, making this gorgeous, tufted grass ideal for sensory gardens. These flowerheads make fine additions to cut arrangements, and will dry well for longer-lasting appeal. It will also flourish in coastal settings.
  
  
• Garden care:Sow seed 5mm deep in a well prepared, sunny seed bed in spring and thin out when large enough to handle. Alternatively start them in autumn using a gritty compost and keep them in a cold frame. Pot on the seedlings (being careful not to disturb the roots), when large enough to handle and harden off before planting out in spring.
