    An attractive and graceful spreading tree, with large, leathery leaves that colour up well in autumn beofre they fall. It is however primarily grown for its curoius fruits, which can be used to make jellies, or eaten raw after they have been picked and left to 'blet' (or decompose). The fruit of this variety are small, but have a much better flavour than many others. They will be ready to harvest in mid to late autumn. and after picking should be left to ripen for several weeks until the flesh has turned brown, soft and sweet and can be scooped out with a spoon.
