An early cropping whitecurrant, which produces long, heavy trusses of pale yellow fruits. These appear early in the season, so are ready to pick in early July and have a pleasantly sweet flavour. It is a very relaible cropper, and will provide a good yield year after year. Because of its many good features, it has become one of the most poular varieties available.
- Garden care: Prepare the ground well before planting. Remove all weeds and dig in plenty of well-rotted manure into the area. Space at 1.5m intervals and once planted, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure every spring, as well as a nitrogen and potassium fertiliser. Make sure the plant is watered in dry weather and net the bushes to protect the fruit from birds. In the first year, prune back to one bud above soil level in winter. After that only prune out weak branches.
