  A french variation of the 'Jersey Long' type, this is a distictive shallot which produces really long bulbs. These bulbs are said to be a big hit amongst exhibition growers and they have a robust flavour. They also store quite well.
  
  
• Garden care: Plant sets from mid-February to March, 15cm (6in) apart in rows 30cm (12in) apart. Lift the shallots when they are mature and allow them to dry before using.
