    This is a beautiful, small tree with stiff weeping branches clothed in rich blackish, purple foliage. It is on of the few common beeches that doesn't grow very large and is ideal for the small garden. It looks stunning planted as a specimen in the lawn or in the garden border with silver and golden foliaged plants.

  • Garden care: Requires minimal pruning if grown as a tree, removing any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly.
