Climbing Yellow Bean Cornetti meraviglia di Venezia
Yellow Bean Cornetti meraviglia di Venezia
- Position: full sun
- Soil: humus-rich, moisture retentive soil
- Rate of growth: fast
- Hardiness: half hardy
Previously called Romax, this produces wide, flat, meaty yellow dwarf French beans that are stringless. Great hot as a vegetable, but it really comes into it's own in a bean salad dressed with Olive oil and balsamic vinegar! Can be grown as a successional crop every four weeks to maintain a good supply.
- Growing Instructions:
Sow outside - April to July when the air temperature is above 15°C
Sow 2-5cm deep, 8cm apart in rows 30cm apart, then thin plants to 20cm, or sow in blocks with plants 15 cm apart each way. Plant with lots of organic matter at the roots and feed once in flower with high-potash fertiliser to prolong cropping. It's a good idea to support to stop plants flopping over.
Harvest - June to October
