  • Position: full sun
  • Soil: humus-rich, moisture retentive soil

A traditional sweet pepper bred in America for sweetness, growing big and sturdy with generous crops of blocky, thick-walled fruits with a rich and succulent flavour. They can be grown outside as green peppers, though you'll find the fruits ripen through yellow to red much more reliably given the extra warmth of a greenhouse.

  • Growing Instructions:Sow in January in pots in a heated propagator or on a sunny windowsill and pot on individually, finally planting out into containers or in the greenhouse borders once plants are about 15cm tall. Support with canes as they mature and feed fortnightly with liquid tomato feed once the flowers appear. Peppers are thirsty plants and if you allow them to dry out their growth will be checked, so make sure you water them every day in summer, especially if growing in a greenhouse.
