  Incredibly striking flowerheads, with ear-black, domed centres, that are surrounded at the base by bright green ‘petals’. A guaranteed talking point at summer garden parties, they will make unusual and long lasting cut-flowers and can also be dried. Perfect for the back of a sunny border.
  
  
• Garden care:Using seed trays and good seed compost, sow in early spring, just covering the seed with a sprinkling of compost. Keep under glass and keep the compost moist but not wet. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, pot on individually and harden off before planting at 50cm intervals outside. Dead-heading will prolong the flowering season. Large clumps should be lifted and divided every 2 - 3 years.
