A new and improved version of an old favourite. The Vicorians thought that these flowers were so beautiful the used to sit them on stages draped with black fabric and place frames around them to view them without distraction. This new variety has all the old world charm, but slightly larger flowers in shades of dark red, scarlet and near-black, edged with gold and silver 'lace'. - Garden care: Divide large clumps after the plant has flowered, preferably during a wet spell.
