    Sulphur yellow flowers, often with brown or violet markings in July and August and ribbed, grey-green leaves. This native, yellow flag iris was once commonly found on marshy land and riversides. Ideal for planting at the margins of a large lake or pool, it flourishes in deep, acid soil enriched with well-rotted organic matter.

  • Garden care: Divide large clumps immediately after flowering.
