An easy to grow umbellifera, with big, densely packed clusters of creamy-white flowers above the finely dissected leaves. Originating from meadows in mountainous areas of Europe and Central Asia, this cultivar is a recent introduction to British gardens. It has a great architectural shape, and it works well in either mixed borders or more naturalised planting.

  • Garden care: Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant in early spring. Remove faded flowerheads and cut back dying foliage in autumn. They resent disturbance but you can divide carefully in early spring if necessary.
