  • Position: partial shade
  • Soil: humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil
  • Rate of growth: average
  • Flowering period: March to May
  • Flower colour: bright blue
  • Other features: distinctive silver foliage
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

An attractive new variety that has long, narrow leaves that are so heavily spotted, they are almost completely silver. In early spring, sprays of small, deep blue flowers appear on short, upright stems and the combination between these and the foliage is a cracker. Lungworts are invaluable as a groundcover in shady spots and will add some bright colour to an early spring garden.

  • Garden care: Lift and divide large clumps every three to five years after flowering or in autumn. Cut back plants affected by mildew to the ground, water and feed - the plant will regenerate and produce new leaves later in the year.
