The Victorians thought that the flowers of the auriculas were so pretty that they used to mount the plants in frames with a black velvet backing and have special viewings. It's easy to see why too when you look closely at the flowers of this gorgeous cultivar. The colours range from soft pink to shades of deepest ruby, and this is highlighted by the bright yellow eye. It may be small in stature, but you should make sure it is planted somewhere prominent so you can admire it each time you pass.
- Garden care: Divide large clumps after the plant has flowered, preferably during a wet spell.
