pot size guide add to wish list

  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: any moist soil
  • Rate of growth: fast-growing
  • Flowering period: July to November
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

An exquisite new cultivar that has fattened spikes of salmon-tinged, intense red flowers (which are a lighter red than its cousin Persicaria amplexicaulis Firetail). This variety is smaller than most and is not too thuggish. It will grow virtually anywhere except hot, dry spots, but like all Persicarias it will prefer a soil which holds moisture. A perfect plant for adding late colour to the garden, and its architectural stature will highlight vertical movement. It looks great with grasses.

  • Garden care: Lift and divide congested colonies in spring or autumn.
