  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: moderately fertile, humus-rich
  • Rate of growth: average to fast growing
  • Flowering Period: June - August
  • Hardiness: Fully hardy

A dwarf form of the Alchemilla mollis, with pretty, scalloped, bluish-green leaves. From late spring to early summer it produces a frothy haze of tiny, pom-pom-like, chartreuse- yellow flowers. It looks wonderful planted en masse for groundcover or for edging paths and borders and will tolerate a range of adverse conditions including heavy clay. Once established, it is drought tolerant too.

  • Garden care: Cut back the faded flower heads and foliage in August and the plant will often produce a second flush of flowers. Alchemilla has a tendency to self-seed freely, so to minimise the spread of the plant, remove the seedheads carefully after flowering.
