• Hardiness: Half hardy, needs winter protection
  
  A monster of a plant if given a warm, sheltered spot where it can become established. This is another Hedychium which originates from the Himalayas, so it is hardier and easier to grow here in the UK. This plant produces either orange or yellow flowers in mid to late summer, so really good for hot coloured borders where you want to extend the flowering period.
  
  
• Garden care: Rhizomes should be covered in the Autumn with a deep mulch, or brought inside and kept cool and moist until the Spring when they can be planted again.
