In the Royal Horticultural Society's Encyclopedia of Perennials, this plant is described as 'superb'. Like all Bergenias it makes a tough and handsome, evergreen groundcover, which is ideal for carpeting the ground under trees and shrubs. The lush foliage is a rich green and holds its colour well throughout the winter. In early spring, this fine cultivar produces sprays of white flowers, which develop a pink blush as they mature. They make a welcome addition to the early spring garden, while the foliage provides more enduring interest.
- Garden care: After flowering remove faded flowerheads. Cut off damaged foliage in spring. Lift and divide large clumps in early spring.
