- Soil: well drained, moderately fertile, neutral to slightly acidic soil, or equal parts ericaceous compost, leaf mould and sharp sand if grown in a pot

A low-growing, clump-forming perennial that produces an abundance of flowers throughout the summer. Originating from open meadows, it makes a fine specimen for an alpine bed or rockery, and will also look attractive in a decorative pot placed in a sunny spot.
- Garden care:Avoid excessive moisture during the winter months, but water freely during summer. They will also benefit from a monthly feed using a general purpose, liquid fertiliser.
